These instructions assume that you have created a widget through the Vendy platform and you have installed the Vendy app on a store with a theme which is not Online Store 2.0 compatible. If you are using a theme which is Online Store 2.0 compatible, please refer to our recommended embedding instructions.
Manually Add a Shoppable Video
After installing, you will have to manually embed the shoppable video widget into your store page.
Open the theme editor by navigating to your theme and clicking Customize.
Click the button to add a theme section.
Add a Custom HTML or Custom Liquid section.
If you cannot find custom HTML or Custom Liquid:
Add Section -> Custom Content -> Add Block -> Custom HTML
Go back to Vendy and in your Layout select Embed Manually -> Copy Embed Code
Paste the Widget Embed Code into the section HTML or Liquid content.
The widget should now be embedded into your page.
Note: If the Container Width shows up - Set to 100% so it takes the full width of your site - If you want two single portrait videos side by side you can have 2 custom HTML at 50% each to take up the whole space
If you uninstall the Vendy app, this embedded section will not be automatically removed by Shopify. You will have to manually remove the sections you have added by deleting them from the theme editor.
Manually Reposition or Remove a Shoppable Video
A manually installed shoppable video can be repositioned or removed with just a few clicks.
To reposition the widget on the page:
Open the theme editor by navigating to your theme and clicking customize.
Locate the section containing the Vendy Shoppable Video.
Use the section's drag and drop functionality to reposition your shoppable video.
To remove the widget from the page:
Open the theme editor by navigating to your theme and clicking customize.
Locate and click on the shoppable video in the Custom Liquid or Custom HTML section.
Click Remove Section to delete the widget from the page. You will be able to add it back to the page again at any time.
